Response
Some of the responses to women and education include the Public instruction Act 1880 (NSW), where all children between 6 and 14 years old were required to attend school for at least 70 days every half year.Another response was that the government encouraged girls to take subjects that were predominantly male during the 1980s. This to try and deal with the shortage of subjects that were available to females. Girls were also encouraged to choose career paths usually for men. The University of Melbourne admitted women on the same terms as men in 1876 and the Sydney University started to admit women in 1882. The final response was the Women's Legal Status Act 1918 (NSW), which was created to allow women to enter a profession without being discriminated because of their gender.
Effectiveness
The effects of these responses are men seeing women as colleagues or leaders in the workplace as well as women also having a new way of seeing their potential. Women are also allowed to get an education even if they're pregnant and there are less workplaces treating women differently from men.
